<title>20th Percentile Canopy Height Estimates for the Upper Gunnison Basin derived from 2015 and 2019 LiDAR Data</title>
This is a map of 20th percentile canopy height above the ground for the Upper Gunnison River Basin based on 2015 and 2019 LiDAR data. Height is measured in meters.

This dataset was generated from the terrain-normalized point clouds using functions in the R package lidR. The ground-classified points were first used to generate a bare-earth surface, which was subtracted from the point cloud elevation to generate a terrain-normalized point cloud. 80th percentile heights were calculated for the LiDAR returns in each pixel using a kernel density method implemented using the quantile() R function.

Artifacts from steep topography and structures have not been removed from this dataset.
